Mean Girls
The movie 'Mean Girls' is a perfect example of a teen movie as it looks at the influences it has on individuals when they involve themselves in certain cliques during the stage of being an adolescent.
Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan shows the journey of how her character, Cady Heron, started new in North Shore High, and slowly became a member of the popular girls also known as 'the plastics'. Soon enough, Cady does not realise that she is crossing the line with Regina, 'The Queen Bee', leader of their clique, when she falls for her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels. Things then begin to escalate when Regina tries her best to stop them going out by pretending she still loves him.

Stereotypes of High School Girls:
- Fashionable

- Cunning
- Relationships (ex - boyfriends and boyfriends)
- Very conscious about the way they look.
Themes:
- Relationships
- Fashion
- Popularity
- Secrets
The way in which Mean Girls reflects modern culture teenagers would be similar because the film shows the different groups in the high school. In most cases, modern culture teenagers do still split themselves into different 'cliques' and some do go through the stereotypical phases of caring about their physical appearance. Although it is a negative approach on teenage girls as they should not have these personalities and should not worry about others or themselves, I believe that there are some teenage girls that this movie would relate to as most do go through that certain phase in life where they have to be at their best in every way.
